Questions/ Prompts

  • Breaking down age related levels for learning - rather have communities of learners that are pivotal around a project, theme or topic rather than classifying learners on the basis of the age demographic.
  • Not eLearning as an either or, but seamless/permeable transition between online/offline -the technology is seamlessly integrated (i.e. technology is not seen). Ultimately remove the "e" from eLearning so that we again simply focus on learning.
  • Breaking down the walls of institutional thought to allow focus on educational activities and outcomes.
  • Revisit how learners are funded.
  • Ways in which the VLNC can have an advocacy role within the developing N4L.

Outcomes of the Meeting 1 August:
At the request of the Hon Nikki Kaye the VLNC Council are invited to present a paper to the reference group to ensure the discussions across the community are represented

Proposed Strategy - the VLNC council will present a paper to the reference group for consideration,
- the VLNC council will investigate the needs of the community it represents
- a request will be made for contributions at the August VLNC monthly meeting to contribute to the document being developed into a paper for presenting to the September meeting of the reference group (actioned)
- members of the VLNC will discuss with their community to define local emphasis and regional needs (underway)
- feedback from the communities will inform the development of a collaborative document (to be presented back to the community at the September meeting)
- the paper is presented at the reference group meeting ~ second week of September (Robin date?)
